POSITION TITLE: Administrative Asst. - Business Office

SUMMARY:
Assists Assistant Superintendent
for Business in the operation of the Business Department of the district.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES.
Other duties may be assigned.

Performs
general secretarial duties for the Assistant Superintendent of Business.
Þ
Keeps
records for general business office and reports to internal and external
departments and agencies.
Þ
Prepares
all phases of computerized budgeting process.
Þ
Acts as
liaison between business office and internal and external computing services
and vendors for present and future computer operations.
Þ
Processes
all insurance policies on property, builder' risk, fleet liability, collision,
general liability, professional liability, boiler, machinery, student
athletics, and any other insurance files for the district.
Þ
Responsible
for file maintenance of business records.
Þ
Prepares
and coordinates all business office policy and procedures.
Þ
Assists
with all correspondence for renovation and/or building programs which includes
detailed files on schedules, contractors, and other related business.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED and 4 years
experience; or Associates degree in secretarial science and 1 year experience;
or BS degree in business education and secretarial science. Must be able to
effectively deal with the public and staff both in person and on the phone.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret,
financial reports and legal documents. Ability to write speeches and articles
for publication in a variety of formats or styles. Ability to respond to common
inquiries or complaints from customer, regulatory agencies or members of the business
community.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as
discounts, interest, commission, proportions, percentages, area, circumference,
and volume. Ability to apply concepts
of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING
ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal
with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists. Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or
schedule form.
OTHER
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must have strong communication, computer and
interpersonal skills, have the ability to learn and utilize new software
programs as systems are upgraded. Ability to develop effective working
relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to perform duties
with awareness of all district requirements and the Board of Education
policies.
