SUMMARY:
Assists Superintendent
in the operation of the School District.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
Other duties may be assigned.

Performs
general secretarial duties for the Superintendent.

Keep
records for Board and Superintendent.
Þ
Prepares
all information for distribution to Board members for Board meetings.
Þ
Acts
as liaison between the general public and the Superintendent.
Þ
Responsible
for file maintenance of District and Board records.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To
perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED and 8
years experience; or Associates degree in secretarial science and 4 years
experience; or BS degree in business education and secretarial science. Must be able to effectively deal with the public and staff both in
person and on the phone.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret,
financial reports and legal documents. Ability to write speeches and articles
for publication in a variety of formats or styles. Ability to respond to common
inquiries or complaints from customer, regulatory agencies or members of the
business community.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts
such as discounts, interest, commission, proportions, percentages, area,
circumference, and volume. Ability to
apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING
ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and
deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists. Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or
schedule form.
OTHER
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must have strong communication, computer
and interpersonal skills, have the ability to learn and utilize new software
programs as systems are upgraded. Ability to develop effective working
relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to perform duties
with awareness of all district requirements and the Board of Education
policies.
