ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES.
Other duties may be assigned.

Enters
invoices for payment.
Þ
Assures
payment to vendors.
Þ
Keys all
information for checks to be printed.
Þ
Performs
necessary computer backups.
Þ
Reviews
cash receipt vouchers prior to posting.
Þ
Posts cash
receipts, claims, and revenue.
Þ
Sets up all
Expense and Revenue accounts needed for posting budgets and reviews all budget
posting for accuracy.
Þ
Reviews
cash receipts and prepare statement of miscellaneous revenue.
Þ
Prepares a
list of refunds or voided checks to back off claims and adjustments to claims.
Þ
Balances
school general ledger.
Þ
Posts any
returns and other adjustments that need to be made.
Þ Prepares and posts all journal entries as
needed.
Þ Keeps daily balance of cash on deposit in
operating bank account. Reconciles the
cash book account with the ledger at end of each month.
Þ Prepare special requested vendor checks
when necessary.
Þ Works closely with auditors in
reconciling account records at the end of the year.
Þ Posts all audit-reversing entries after
year-end close out.
Þ Performs other duties as may be required
by the Assistant Superintendent for Business.
Þ Maintains the district telephone service
and processes all statements.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully,

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma with 5 years bookkeeping
experience; or AA degree in accounting with 3 years experience. Must be able to
effectively deal with the public and staff both in person and on the phone.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret
financial reports. Ability to write
simple correspondence. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small
group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as
discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages. Ability to add, subtract,
multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions and decimals.
REASONING
ABILITY:
Ability to deal with problems involving a
variety of concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to solve
practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists.
OTHER
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to develop effective working
relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to communicate
clearly and concisely. Ability to
perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and the Board of
Education policies.
