SUMMARY:
Responsible for effectively using all appropriate resources to help
students resolve such personal, emotional, and social problems as interfere
with their adjustment to school and their capacity to enjoy the fullest
benefits of the education offered them. Directs the operational implementation and dissemination of the
Case Management Program.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned.
Þ Coordinates
and supervises casework activities of all individual case managers and
assistant case managers.
Þ Conducts
regular meetings with case managers and assistant case managers.
Þ Establishes
and maintains effective liaison with the various offices and agencies within
the community that may provide specialized or professional help to students and
their parents.
Þ Provides
leadership in inter-agency collaboration with school personnel and social
agency personnel.
Þ Ensures
that each case manager and assistant case manager maintains an inventory of
services offered by community health and welfare agencies.
Þ Maintains
professional contacts and serves as a liaison with such outside agencies as the
Department of Social Services, Juvenile Court, Mental Health, etc.
Þ Coordinates
activities with the Director of Special Services and the Directors of
Elementary and Secondary Education.
Þ Maintains
all accountability records associated with the Case Management Program.
Þ Monitors
all case management programs for operational effectiveness.
Þ Performs
such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may from time to
time be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Administration.
SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises the Secretary of Case Management.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE:
Masters Degree in social work. Certification as Social Worker III. At least three years of successful
experience in social work.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret
scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to write speeches and articles for
publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively
present information to administrators, top management, public groups/community,
and Board of Education.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions,
percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING
ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data,
establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
OTHER
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to develop effective working
relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and
concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and
the Board of Education policies.
