Position Description
POSITION TITLE: Cleaning Coordinator
Reports To: Physical Plant Supervisor or Head Custodian
SUMMARY: Keeps the district's school buildings safe,
attractive, comfortable, clean, so that they present no problems or
interruptions to the educational program.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

Reports
to the Physical Plant Supervisor or Head Custodian areas needing attention.
Þ
Cleans
and maintains all areas assigned by the Physical Plant Supervisor or Head
Custodian.
Þ
Participates
in necessary custodial care within the building assigned
Þ
Assists
general custodians with daily routine cleaning.
Þ
Assists
with the school grounds when necessary.
Þ
Assists
in cafeteria areas if necessary.
Þ
Participates
in the general cleaning and maintenance of any area of the school as needed.
Þ
Performs
emergency repair or cleaning services as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED. Demonstrated aptitude
for successful completion of the tasks assigned.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as
safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to present information in
one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, other employees
and/or students.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract two digit numbers and
to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and
weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING
ABILITY:
Ability to apply simple understanding to carry
out detailed but basic written and/or oral instructions.
OTHER
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to develop effective working
relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to communicate
clearly and concisely. Ability to
perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and the Board of
Education policies.

move up to 75+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is occasionally required to sit.
The employee frequently must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head
and reach forward. The employee
continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools and climb ladders. The employee will frequently bend or twist at
the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of
this job.

occasionally work outdoors. The employee

with severe time constraints. The noise level in the work environment is
usually moderate.
