SUMMARY: Assists the school office staff in general
daily activities.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned.
· Answers phone.
· Assists School Secretary.
· Assists with school routines as assigned.
· Participates in training as assigned.
· Willingly accepts changes in assignments when necessary.
· Monitors office in absence of Secretary and Principal.
·
Assists with classroom supervision during emergency
situations or special events that take the teacher from the classroom.
· Completes duties as assigned for the betterment of the school.
· Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
· Participates in inservice training programs as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises students.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write routine reports and simple correspondence. Ability to speak and present effectively before vendors, administration and staff.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Previous work in child care. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and the Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to push items of 50 lbs. Such as pushing children on a bike or moving/rearranging furniture. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.
