POSITION TITLE: ETV Clerk I

SUMMARY: Provides instructional television and radio resources
and services to schools and other facilities through the District's
distribution network. Performs duties so that students, teachers, and
administrators receive benefits of electronic media for learning and inservice
opportunities.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned.
Þ Operates
the taping center to feed four channels of scheduled instructional television
programs to the ITFS transmitters.
Þ Makes
copies of videotapes to feed four channels of instructional television programs
to the ITFS transmitters.
Þ Orders
special feeds of programs from the South Carolina ETV Network.
Þ Monitors
requirement and log information at meet FCC requirements. Adheres to all FCC regulations.
Þ Monitors
all open circuit and ITFS broadcast signals for quality control.
Þ Observes
and logs all tape damage and equipment malfunctions. Reports those to the ETV Coordinator.
Þ Maintains
communications link by phone from al schools and make written reports to the
ETV Specialist.
Þ Permits
only authorized personnel to operate equipment or handle video and audiotapes.
Þ Eats
lunch at desk in order to provide constant monitoring of equipment during daily
operation. (Food and drink are not allowed near equipment. Smoking is prohibited.)
Þ Assumes
duties as assigned and works cooperatively with all District and school staff.

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or G.E.D. Must be able to
effectively deal with the public both in person and on the phone. FCC
Operator's license.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple
instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with other
employees and/or students.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to apply basic arithmetic calculations
using units of American money, weight measurements, volume and distance.
REASONING
ABILITY:
Ability to apply simple understanding to carry
out detailed but basic written and/or oral instructions.
OTHER
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to pass a District typing test. Ability to develop effective working
relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to
communicate clearly and concisely.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements
and the Board of Education policies.

must be able to distinguish the difference between bells, buzzers, beeps, etc.
