Position Description

 

POSITION TITLE:    Clerk I Guidance

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.

Þ      Answers phone, attends to correspondence, etc.

Þ      Checks immunizations.

Þ      Schedules appointments.

Þ      Keeps college materials in order and available to students, types college recommendations.

Þ      Secures assignments from individual teachers and sends them home for sick students.

Þ      Mails copies of interim reports and any other information parents may request.

Þ      Assists with testing.

Þ      Takes inventory at the end of the year.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to effectively deal with the public and staff both in person and on the phone.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, managers, employee, clients, customers and/or the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

 

 

 

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff and students. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.  Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and the Board of Education policies.

The employee must be able to hear the difference between bells, buzzers, beeps, horns, etc. The employee frequently communicates through speech.
