Job Position Description
Position Title: Instructional Technology Coach
Department: Instruction – Site Based
Reports To: Director of Instructional Technology

SUMMARY: The job of the Instructional Technology Coach has been established for the purpose of assisting with the implementation of the district wide technology focus of the 50G Technology Initiative. This position will also facilitate the implementation of using technology in the classroom teaching and learning strategies to raise student engagement and achievement. The Instructional Technology Coach will hold training sessions on infusing technology into the core areas of academic curriculum, provide input and recommendations regarding software or application purchases, and provide input/insight on the ways to increase teachers’ use of technology as it positively impacts student performance in the classroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan and facilitate professional development aligned with the chosen state curriculum standards and the National Education Technology Standards.
2. Assist in the management of implementing the various phases of the District’s 50G Technology Initiative.
3. Model effective teaching methods and best practices in a digital environment.
4. Analyze technology program information documenting the effectiveness of the program, interpret this information and provide constructive input in evaluation of the program effectiveness.
5. Develop instructional technology solutions and related training materials for the purpose of providing users with tools needed to utilize emerging instructional technology for enhancing student learning.
6. Maintain a variety of files, documents, and/or records for the purpose of documenting activities concurrent with the job description of a Instructional Technology Coach.
7. Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to evaluate and integrate technology resources addressing curricular needs and learning goals.
8. Introduce principals/teachers to new methods, materials, and instructional strategies that through research have proven to increase student engagement and achievement.
9. Assist district/schools in long-term technology planning and execution of year round district wide technology training.
10. Communicate with school and district personnel, parents, and community to share information about district/school technology program(s).
11. Follow a plan for professional development and actively seek opportunities to grow professionally in the most current technology trends.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCES AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The person(s) in this position will be required to have the following credentials unless otherwise noted:
1. Valid South Carolina teaching certificate;
2. Five years teaching experience with demonstrated success in integrating technology; experience teaching in a 1:1 classroom environment preferable;
3. Master’s degree in Instructional Technology or related field of education;
4. Sample artifacts demonstrating the use of technology as a tool for authentic student learning;
5. Ability to work with teachers and students to integrate technology into the teaching and learning process;
6. Successful experience as an educational leader;
7. Knowledge of best practices for teaching and learning;
8. Experience organizing and leading professional development for a variety of audiences at the school or district level;
9. Outstanding oral and written communication skills;
10. Strong planning, organizational and presentation skills; and
11. Strong human relation skills.
