POSITION TITLE: Lunchroom Operator

SUMMARY:
Serves the students attractive and nutritious meals in an efficient,
clean, warm atmosphere.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned.

Assists in
the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.
Þ
Assumes
responsibility for making sure that the supply of food is replenished
regularly.
Þ
Assists in
the daily cleaning of the kitchen and service areas.
Þ
Performs
major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals
as designated by the lunchroom manager.
Þ
Assumes
responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.
Þ
Demonstrates
willingness to learn various jobs in the lunchroom and attends inservice
programs.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED and one year
experience in cafeteria or restaurant work. Demonstrated aptitude for
successful completion of the tasks assigned.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety
rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to
write routine reports and simple correspondence. Ability to present information
in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, other employees
and/or students.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract two digit numbers and
to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and
weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING
ABILITY:
Ability to apply simple understanding to carry
out detailed but basic written and/or oral instructions.
OTHER
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to develop effective working
relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to communicate
clearly and concisely. Ability to
perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and the Board of
Education policies.

close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is occasionally required to sit.
The employee frequently must reach above the head and reach forward. The employee continuously uses hand strength
to grasp utensils.
