Position Description
POSITION TITLE: Computing Services Clerk
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: Director of Computing Services
SUMMARY: Assists the District by taking messages, filing
reports, ordering equipment, and scheduling appointments related to the Office
of Computing Services. The overall
objective of the position is to assist the district in the improvement of
instruction and learning and improve the use of professional and clerical time
to the ultimate benefit of all educational programs.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned.
Þ Assists
with taking messages for the Director and technicians.
Þ Schedules
appointments for the Director and technicians.
Þ Receives
service requests and enters those requests into the database.
Þ Uses
standard software for correspondence, email, database and calculating
functions.
Þ Receives
and transmits school and District attendance reporting.
Þ Audits
each school's SASIxp files for EFA and EIA coding. This audit process will ensure accuracy and consistency in each
school's EFA and EIA reporting.
Þ Monitors
the collection and restoring of district backups to the District network.
Þ Maintains
a District-wide inventory of all computer hardware, peripherals, and licensed
software.
Þ Supervises
the ordering and purchasing of computing hardware, software, and other related
materials. This includes the creation
and maintenance of current pricing information for all technology-related
products.
Þ Completes
other tasks, as assigned, to support the District.

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma. Working knowledge of
personal computers and networks, other software.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as
safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure
manuals. Ability to write reports,
business correspondence, and general information flyers. Ability to speak and present effectively
before vendors, administration and staff.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and
to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING
ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal
with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists.
OTHER
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to develop effective working
relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to
communicate clearly and concisely.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements
and the Board of Education policies.
