SUMMARY: Directs an ongoing program of collaboration
between Greenwood School District 50 and Lander University to meet the needs of
student teachers, practicum students, and professional development initiatives.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned.
Assures that the district meets all student placement requirements of the State Department of Education and South Carolina laws.
Assesses the student placement needs for all Lander students.
Maintains accurate records for all student placement activities.
Coordinates and recommends utilization of the leadership skills and expertise of school district personnel in implementing student placement activities.
Coordinates inservice programs dealing with student placement.
Works with all principals on student placement.
Coordinates annual placement evaluations.
Coordinates as necessary the training of designated employees to supervise student placements.
Assists in maintaining adequate records of student placements.
Assists with research, compilation of operational statistics, and experimental aspects of student placement activities.
Serves as information liaison between the total school system and Lander Education Department.
Maintains open lines of communication with District 50 and Lander University.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Masters Degree with related work in induction processes, student placement, personnel evaluation, and planning. Valid S.C. Teachers certificate. Minimum of five year’s successful experience as a classroom teacher. Such alternatives or additional qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication in a variety of formats or styles. Ability to effectively present information to administrators, top management, public groups/community, and Board of Education.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and the Board of Education policies.
