SUMMARY: Works with secondary students in the area of
vocational counseling, business education, or job placement.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned.

Represents Greenwood School District 50
on the Greenwood Interagency Transition Cooperative.
Þ
Works with the teachers, administrators,
parents, and students to assess transition needs of the students.
Þ
Develops transition goals and objectives
with the teachers, parents, and students.
Þ
Works with the special education teachers
to develop a life centered curriculum.
Þ
Develops a resource book for students and
parents.
Þ
Identifies community-based
training/employment sites for special needs students.
Þ
Identifies post-secondary education
opportunities for special needs students.
Þ
Works with the transition
coordinator to provide small group lessons on work ethics and other work
related skills.
Þ
Supervises students in community-based
work sites

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree. Must be able to
effectively deal with the public, students, and staff both in person and on the
phone.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret
general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence,
and procedure manuals. Ability to
present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers,
clients, other employees and/or students.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to apply concepts such as
fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING
ABILITY:
Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to develop effective working
relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to
communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all
district requirements and the Board of Education policies.

distinguish the difference between bells, buzzers, beeps, etc.
