SUMMARY: Compares identifying
information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing
shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or
other records. Receives,
stores, maintains and disburses all warehouse goods and keeps accurate inventory
records. Processes all
UPS Packages and other Truck shipments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)
§
Receive, store and maintain all goods delivered to the
warehouse in a safe and neat manner.
§
Report all shortages to the supervisor or her designee and
the trucking company.
§
Follow the guidelines of the district's Hazard
Communication Program as it regards to MSDS's and
labels.
§
Maintain control of stock to ensure accuracy of physical
inventory through data input in computer system..
§
Assist in physical inventories to the extent assigned by
the supervisor.
§
Fill warehouse orders promptly and efficiently maintaining
the delivery schedule established by the supervisor.
§
Process all UPS packages, shipping and receiving.
§
Prepare shipments for returns to vendors or forwarding to
district locations.
§
Drive delivery vehicles as assigned by the supervisor and
use and maintain hand trucks, and straddle truck.
§
Assumes courier responsibilities including mail sorting and
PONY delivery in courier’s absence.
§
Must be proficient in computer technology.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises and
directs warehouse helper.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s
degree in Business Administration or related area as well as related experience
is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read
and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence. Good
communication and interpersonal skills are required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to
calculate figures and amounts such as discount interest, commissions
proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability
to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to utilize computer
spreadsheet software.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply
common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,
oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems
involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to identify
strategies to improve efficiency of operation.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to establish and maintain effective
working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to perform duties
with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Ability to motivate and
develop effective performance of helper.

must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or
move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Employs
proper safety devices to include steel-toe shoes, back brace, and safety
glasses.

the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in high, precarious
places. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and sometimes hot
