Math Ideas for Science
Fair Projects
http://mathforum.org/teachers/mathproject.html
The Math Forum is a
leading center for mathematics and mathematics education on the Internet. The
Math Forum's mission is to provide resources, materials, activities,
person-to-person interactions, and educational products and services that
enrich and support teaching and learning in an increasingly technological
world. Part of the Math Forum is a
section for Math Ideas for Science Fair Projects. This section includes project ideas related
to data, designs with circles, Pascal’s triangle and Fibonacci numbers,
fractals, “magic” squares, and many more.
The site also includes links to other sites that promote math-based projects. There are many projects here that are
technology-based – that is, computers are incorporated into the display and
exhibition of the mathematics. Some of
these projects may even be better than foaming volcanoes and withered bean
sprouts.
