Quizlet 5/1/07 Quizlet (http://quizlet.com/)
is a free, web-based tool designed (by a high school student) to help
students learn and practice vocabulary.
Users enter vocabulary terms and definitions, and the site creates
flashcards and other study tools.
Next, students are presented with three study methods: the flashcard
method; a configurable test page that includes written, matching,
multiple-choice, and true-false questions; and a specialized
"learn" mode that tracks the user's knowledge of individual words
and retests the user only on unlearned words.
Quizlet is for English terms and their definitions, but students also
are using the site to learn foreign-language translations, history dates, and
scientific terms. Quizlet also offers
the most common 100 SAT words. This site
is worth checking out! |
Important Teacher Notes · Your laptop is equipped with
wireless networking. You can turn on
or turn off the wireless antenna by pressing the Fn+F2
key combination. Your antenna is on if
the first light below your touchpad is blue; if the light is off, you cannot
use wireless. · Do not use the laptop while it is
sitting on the bed or on some other soft surface. The cooling fans on the bottom of the
laptop require constant air flow – setting the laptop on the bed will close
off that air flow and will cause components in the laptop to overheat. Always set the laptop on a flat surface so
its “feet” will leave enough space for the air to be pulled in by the fans on
the bottom of the laptop. Also, when
using the laptop on your lap, be sure to leave clearance for the air flow. ·
· Warranty and accident protection do
not cover loss or theft of the laptop.
Please be sure the laptop is kept in a safe and secure place. If it is lost or stolen, report it to OCS
immediately. |
