          Calling All Bloggers!

10/15/07 Blog, blogger, blogging - three little words added             to our vocabulary in recent years.  For the uninitiated, a             blog is similar to an email group or a listserv.  A blog differs in that it is a website where people submit commentaries on a particular subject.  Not long ago, a colleague suggested that I check out http://edublogs.org.  From that site, I went to “principal’sblog,” created by Sunny Williams, principal of Hewitt-Trussville Middle School in Trussville, Alabama.  Dr. Williams opened her blog with this statement: “I am learning to blog and want to provide an opportunity for students, parents, and others to continue learning through our electronic conversations.”  I was hooked!  What a wonderful way to communicate and to encourage students to communicate!

                                                  Continued È

Bloggers continued…

Our district has its own Blogger Guru, Leslie Sanford, at NSD.  Check out Northside’s Blog!  Leslie has graciously agreed to help teachers who want to add a blog to their website.  NSD also has another blogger!  Take a look at Sharlie Grier’s blog to get another perspective.

If we have any other educational bloggers in our district, please let me know so I can share your blog in the next TWTW.
