FYI

10/1/09 This edition of the TWTW is filled with resources for teaching and learning as well as technology tips.  Be sure to look at the Interactive Whiteboard activities.  There are so many flipchart and notebook lessons available that you do not always need to “reinvent the wheel.”  You can easily adapt a lesson to fit your needs.  Also, remember to share with one another!  Some of your best resources could be right next door or in a sister school.

If you find websites or activities that you think are worthwhile, please send them to hughesc@gwd50.org to share in the TWTW.

Happy Fall!

Important Teacher Notes

· Bulletin Board Hang Ups: Looking for something to hang on your wall to catch the mind as well as the eye? Find dozens of quotations, grouped by topic and turned into colorful, printable, 8.5" x 11" files that are ready to use.  Print and hang!  Four sets are available:

"Lines to Learning" - musings on education and knowledge
"Horizon Lines" - thoughts on greatness and achievement
"Writer's Blocks" - quotations about writing and poetry
"Goal Lines" - inspirations from sports

·   ARGH! Why does my computer do that?  Why is my taskbar suddenly on the side of my screen and how do I fix it?  Ooops – I just moved, copied, or deleted the wrong file?  One or two lines of my document spill over to the next page!  Find the answers to these and many other computer mysteries in Marilyn Western’s helpful hints.
