1: What a Web Page Looks Like Create a folder on drive C: Double-click

nothing is highlighted File/New/Folder;
name folder with last name and first initial (e.g., westg) Visit the District 50 home page Download Word document for
activity Download Word document for
activity (career center only) Choose Save and navigate to your folder; then click the
Save button Download class photo for activity Choose Save and navigate to your folder; then click the
Save button Download map image for activity
Choose Save and navigate to your folder; then click the
Save button Close the browser Double-click the Word file icon on the desktop to open it
in Word Use the document to create a sample web page with the
following elements: Display
different background types and use map image for background Edit
picture and replace with photo Links to
the given sites (copy and paste from the browser) Make
links out of given text Create
link for extra resources Activity
2: How to Create a New Web Page Creating a Word document Open a new Word document Tables, cells, borders, and fills (colors) Publishing Your Class Web
Pages Complete your web pages in your folder and test
all links Don’t
put anything else in the folder for your web pages – put only the things
needed for your web pages Copy your folder to portable media (flash
drive, CD, diskette) Give folder to your school webmaster (identify
the name of your “home” page) Webmaster will copy to web folder on server Webmaster will add link to school page to go
to teacher/class home page Webmaster will copy school web folder
(including all teacher/class folders) to district web server Teacher lets parents and students know about
teacher/class web pages |
